Further arrests following Hinckley Road collision

Two men have been arrested in connection with a serious collision in Leicester’s Hinckley Road as an investigation into the incident continues.
A 25-year-old man was arrested by police on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
The 18-year-old has since been released on bail, while the 25-year-old has been released under investigation.
The collision – involving a black Volkswagen Golf R and a blue Nissan Micra – happened close to the roundabout with New Parks Way at around 11.30pm on Saturday 3 July.
Following initial enquiries at the scene, a 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision. He was later released on bail.
The driver of the Micra – a woman in her 20s – remains in hospital in a stable condition and is continuing to receive treatment for her injuries.
Detectives from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) would still like to speak to anyone with information about the collision who has not yet come forward.
