Man charged with murder
An 18-year-old has been charged with the murder of Usman Patel, aged 32, in the early hours of Sunday 18 July.
At around 2.18am Usman was stabbed to death near to a residential property on Green Lane Road, North Evington. He was treated at the scene by the ambulance service but died from his injuries.
Omar Nur, aged 18 (dob 30/12/2002) from Chartley Road Leicester was today (22 July) charged with Usman’s murder.
He is next due to appear tomorrow morning at Leicester Magistrate’s Court.
Two men, two youths and a woman who were arrested have now been released under investigation.

A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder from a residential address in North Evington on 20 July has since been on 21 July. He was released no further action in relation to conspiracy to murder.
All of the below are released under investigation on 22 July:
A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder from a residential address in North Evington on 20 July but has since been released with no further action in relation to the murder, but remains released under investigation for assisting an offender.
A 17-year-old youth was arrested on suspicion of murder from a residential address in North Evington on the 20 July but has since been released with no further action in relation to the murder but remains released under investigation for assisting an offender.
A 23-year-old woman was arrested from a residential address in North Evington on 20 July on suspicion of assisting an offender and has now been released under investigation for the same offence.
In addition,
A 17-year-old youth was arrested on 21 July in Slough on suspicion of murder he has been released with no further action in relation to murder but has been released under investigation for assisting an offender and acquiring criminal property, under the proceeds of crime act.
