Officers are appealing for information after a report of an assault and criminal damage in Woodhouse Eaves.
Around 5am on Wednesday 7 July, officers received a report of a man lying in the middle of the crossroads at Joe Moores Lane and Swithland Road.
It was reported that the man assaulted a man and damaged vehicles who stopped to assist.
A 26-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested in connection with this incident and was released under investigation.
Detective Constable Julia Newton said: “We are trying to identify a female driver who stopped to assist the man.
“We would also like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or may have captured it on dash cam.”
