Police are appealing for information after the body of a man has been discovered in Green Lane Road, North Evington, Leicester.
The East Midlands Ambulance Service contacted police at approximately 02:30am today (18 July) as they had been called to a report of a stabbing at the location. The victim was treated at the scene by the Ambulance Service, however he was pronounced dead at approximately 3am.
A scene is in place and Green Lane Road is closed between Freeman North Road and Wicklow Drive.
The victim has not yet been identified.
Detectives would like to hear from anyone who was in the local area prior to 02:30am who may have seen or heard anything suspicious.
Police are keeping an open mind as the investigation is in the early stages but the incident is being treated as a murder.
