A man has been jailed after pleading guilty to sexual assault in a North-East Leicestershire village.
James Fairlie, 33 of New Street, Leicester, was sentenced to 16 months in prison at Leicester Crown Court on Tuesday 1 June.
Around 4.45pm on Thursday 15 April, a woman was approached by Fairlie in the rear garden of a property.
Fairlie, who was intoxicated, grabbed her breasts and tried to kiss her before leaving the scene.
The woman called a friend who came to the property and confronted Farlie when he returned.
Officers attended the scene and Fairlie was arrested nearby.
He was charged with sexual assault and on Monday 19 April pleaded guilty at Leicester Magistrates Court.
Detective Constable Mo Behl said: “This was a very distressing incident for the victim who has been deeply affected and afraid to leave her house.
“We are supporting her to move on from this incident and urge anyone with concerns about an incident of this nature, whether recent or in the past, to get in touch.”
