Officers are investigating after a number of motorbikes and mopeds were stolen from the Leicester area overnight.
Police have received four reports of vehicles being stolen from Beaconfield Road, Medina Road and Pool Road between 16 and 17 June.
Some of the reports were made while the crime was in progress and officers attended. A search of the area was carried out, with the assistance of the police helicopter, but no suspects were located.
One of the bikes was later found abandoned in the area of Middleton Street.
Detective Inspector Ben Healy from West Leicester CID said: “Our enquiries are continuing this morning to locate those responsible for this spate of thefts.
“I would like to take this opportunity to not only appeal for information about these crimes but also to alert those living in these areas who own such vehicles.
“If you live locally and own a motorbike or a moped, please be vigilant to this type of theft and take the relevant measures to ensure your vehicle is secure to help prevent it becoming stolen.”
Anyone with information about these incidents can contact police on 101.
