Officers are appealing for information following a report of an assault on a woman in Enderby on Friday evening.
Police were called to the area at around 8.50pm following a report that a woman, in her 50s, had been approached by a group of woman in the area of Mill Lane, near the junction with Co-Operation Street, and assaulted. The suspects were reported to have left in a blue Ford Fiesta car.
Officers attended the incident. The victim was found to have suffered a minor cut to her hand. She did not require medical treatment.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident including how many women were in the group and whether any weapons were involved.
Detective Chief Inspector Reme Gibson said: “Enquiries have been ongoing over the weekend to establish the full circumstances regarding this incident and officers have been speaking to people in the area and checking CCTV.
“Officers have also been carrying out patrols in the area following this report.
“We are appealing to anyone with any information in relation to this incident to come forward to us and assist us as we progress with our enquiries.
“Anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area on Friday evening who has not yet made contact with us is also urged to get in touch.”
