A Leicester man has been sentenced to a total of 47 months in court for a number of criminal offences.
Askarai Imaan was sentenced at Leicester Crown Court yesterday (Thursday 13 May).
The 21-year-old of Trafford Road was convicted of possessing a controlled drug of class A with intent, possessing criminal property, possessing a controlled drug of class B, possessing ammunition without a firearm certificate and possessing firearm ammunition when prohibited.
A Misuse of Drugs Act warrant was executed at his address in November 2020.
Imaan was arrested at the address and a quantity of drugs, ammunition and cash were recovered at the address. Imaan was charged and later appeared at court.
Detective Constable Chris Fox, who was the investigating officer, said: “The warrant executed at Imaan’s address resulted in both heroin, cannabis, a large sum of money as well as firearm ammunition being recovered.
“This was a successful result in seizing this property and giving us the evidence to put Imaan before the courts where he has been given a lengthy prison sentence for his crimes.
“We remain committed to tackling this type of criminal activity and will continue to carry out future enforcements where necessary.”
