Appeal for information after suspicious fire in Leicester

Detectives are appealing for information after a house was damaged during a fire in Leicester during the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 23 November).
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the property in Cranmer Street around 1.55am. The two occupants of the house managed to escape and were taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
Extensive damage was caused to the property and initial enquiries at the scene suggest the fire may have been started deliberately.
The house remains cordoned off while investigations continue.
Anyone who was in the area this morning and witnessed the incident or saw any suspicious activity is asked to get in touch.
Also, anyone who has video recording equipment installed in their vehicles, and was in this area around the time of the fire, is asked to check the footage and contact officers if they captured anything that may assist with the investigation.
