Three people arrested following a disturbed burglary in Whetstone in the early hours of Thursday morning have been released on police bail.
Police received a call at around 2.25am yesterday morning (18 November) with the caller stating that they had woke up to find a man in their house in Henson Close who quickly left stealing a games console and some van keys.
A further call was received a short time later of three people captured on doorbell footage trying car and house doors in nearby Stoney Stanton. Given a similar description of the suspect in the Whetstone incident and its closeness in location, officers attended Stoney Stanton for an area search.
While in the village, a vehicle was stopped by officers and two people were arrested from the vehicle. A third person was arrested in the street nearby.
A 50-year-old man and two youths aged 16 and 17 have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and remain in custody.
Officers are also looking at a possible linked crime of a burglary in Huncote Road, Stoney Stanton overnight whereby a set of car keys were stolen.
