Driver involved in a serious collision on A42 dies

A driver who was seriously injured after a collision on the A42 on Sunday evening (31 October) has died.
The collision occurred around 6.40pm on the southbound carriageway of the A42 and involved two vehicles, a blue Peugeot 108 and a HGV lorry.
The lorry was stationary parked in a bay on the side of the road when the collision occurred. The car crossed two lanes and came to rest near the central reservation.
The driver of the car sustained serious injuries and was taken to University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire, where he sadly passed away yesterday evening (Monday 1 November).
Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles beforehand. Also, if anyone was travelling along this road on Sunday evening and have video recording equipment installed in their vehicles they are asked to check the footage and get in touch if they captured anything that may help with enquiries.
