Appeal following attempted theft from cash machine

Officers are appealing for information following the attempted theft from a cash machine in Abbey Lane, Leicester.
The incident happened just before 1.50am on Saturday 25 September at the cash machine outside the Bargain Booze store, near to the junction with Thurcaston Road.
The suspects are believed to have arrived at the scene in a car. Damage was caused to the cash machine before the suspects then left in the vehicle.
It is not believed that any cash was stolen from the cash machine.
From enquiries, it is believed there may be some witnesses to the incident who have not yet spoken with police. Detectives are appealing to anyone with any information to come forward.
Detective Constable Claire Francis said: “While this incident happened during the early hours of the morning, our enquiries so far show that there may have been people passing, by vehicle and on foot, who may have witnessed parts of this incident.
“Please think back to if you were in the area or passing the area between 1.30am and 2am on Saturday 25 September. Did you see or hear anything which caused you concern? Do you have any dashcam footage from the area which may assist our enquiries?
“If you have any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, then please get in touch.”
