Motorcyclist named after fatal collision in Leicester

A motorcyclist who died after a collision in Melton Road, Leicester, has been named.
Officers were called to the stretch of road near Rushey Fields shortly before 9pm on Wednesday 6 October following a report that a motorcycle had collided with a lamppost.
The motorcyclist, 26-year-old Ali Andani, died at the scene.
A man who was arrested in connection with the incident has since been released no further action.
Detective Sergeant Ed Des-Chanelle, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our investigation continues and we are still keen to receive information about a group of other motorcyclists who we believe were travelling with the motorcyclist. I would still urge those riders to come forward with any information they have.
“If there is anyone who may have witnessed something connected to the collision, or has any relevant dashcam footage, please get in contact. It’s not too late to get in touch.”
