Seven people arrested after stabbing in city centre

Seven people have been arrested today (Tuesday 5 October) after a fight in the city centre during the early hours of this morning.
Officers were called to Yeoman Street just after 4am after a report of a fight involving a number of people.
Subsequently a man was found injured, suffering from stab wounds, in a churchyard in St George’s Way. The 23-year-old victim was taken to hospital where he is undergoing treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
During the initial incident a pedestrian was also involved in a collision but wasn’t injured.
An area in Yeoman Street and in St George’s Way churchyard have been cordoned off while officers carry out their investigations at the scenes.
Seven people from the Nottingham area were arrested during the early hours of this morning. The men, aged between 21 and 26, were all arrested on suspicion of causing Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH).
All seven have since been released under investigation.
Detective Inspector Mark Parish, said: “We know a number of people were involved in the fight and we’d like to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened or has any information about the circumstances leading up to it.
“Anyone who was driving in the area is asked to check their video recording equipment and contact us if they captured any footage of the incident.”
