Police are appealing for a man who may have been a victim of a robbery in Leicester to make contact.
A member of the public called an ambulance for a man who was found in a distressed state on the ground in Evington Road near to the junction with Abingdon Road sometime between 6am and 7am on Monday 13 September.
The man, who gave his name as David and was in his fifties, alleged he had been robbed by a group of men and money had been stolen from him.
The ambulance staff attended but did not transport David to hospital for any medical treatment and left the scene.
Officers have made enquiries to try to trace David and are now making a public appeal for him to come forward.
Detective Constable Gary Dunnigan said: “It is very important we speak to David so we can take a full account from him and investigate what happened.
“I would appeal for David to get in touch with us or alternatively, anyone who may have witnessed a robbery and have any information to also contact police.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting 21*533493.
