Man arrested following sexual assault report released on bail

A man arrested following a report of a serious sexual assault in Great Central Way last month has been released on police bail.

The man, who is 21 and from Leicester, was arrested in connection with the incident yesterday morning (Thursday 7 April).

He has since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

A victim – who left the scene – has not yet come forward. The report was made by a third party.

Detective Constable Natalie Atchison, from the force’s Signal team, said: “We are still working to establish the identity of the victim and are continuing to ask her to make contact.
