A man, who taken to hospital following an assault in Leicester, has died.
At 4.23am yesterday (Friday 19 August), police were called to High Street by the East Midlands Ambulance Service who were treating an injured man.
He was taken to hospital with a serious head injury and has subsequently died.
Detectives are continuing to carry out enquiries in relation to the incident in order to establish the full circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assault has currently been released on police bail.
Anyone who witnessed what happened or the events leading up to the incident and has not yet spoken to police is asked to come forward.
Call police on 101, quoting incident 83 of 19 August.
