Police have identified a man who died following an assault in Leicester city centre.
Darren Bradley, 53, was taken to hospital with a serious head injury after the incident in High Street, in the early hours of Friday 19 August. Sadly, he died the following day.
Following a post-mortem examination, the cause of death has been given as a head injury.
Detectives are continuing to investigate what happened and specialist officers are supporting Darren’s family at this extremely difficult time.
Darren’s family said: “Darren was a loving husband, son, dad, stepdad and grandad and he will be deeply missed. We would ask for privacy at this time.”
A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assault has currently been released on police bail.
Anyone who witnessed what happened or the events leading up to the incident and has not yet spoken to police are asked to come forward.
