Officers are appealing to speak to a number of people after a man suffered stab wound injuries following an incident in Narborough Road, Leicester, during the early hours of Christmas Eve.
Police were called to the area, near the junction with Raymond Road, at 2.37am on Saturday 24 December where an 18-year-old man was found outside with stab wound injuries to his back.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.
A 58-year-old man has since been charged in connection with the incident. Simon Toussaint, of Robin Close, Leicester, has been charged with wounding with intent and with possession of a knife and has been remanded into custody.
An investigation is continuing and officers are continuing to appeal to speak to a number of people who were in the area at the time to make contact.
This includes a number of people who were driving through the area at the time as well as a man who was seen to walk along Narborough Road and turn around in the junction of Raymond Road. Police are appealing to speak to these people as witnesses to the incident. They are not believed to be directly involved in the incident in any way.
Detective Sergeant Nick Woodrow said: “We are also appealing to anyone else who was in the area at the time to make contact. Please think back to if you were in the area during the early hours of Christmas Eve and anything you saw or heard which may have caused you concern.
“If you have any dashcam footage or CCTV from the area at the time, you should also get in touch.”
