Officers are investigating an incident in which a teenage boy attempted to steal a dog from another youth.
The incident happened in Golf Course Lane – between the Foxholes Road junction and the bridge over the railway line – at around 4.40pm last Friday (25 November).
The victim, aged 15, was approached by a boy around the same age who threatened her with a knife, threw glass bottles, and said he would steal her dog.
The victim was not injured during the incident.
Detective Constable Matthew Harburt, the investigating officer, said: “The victim in this incident was walking her dog. I’m keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time – such as other dog walkers – as they may have information that could help.
“Any details you’re able to provide could assist my investigation.”
