Two men arrested as detectives investigate a serious assault in Leicester’s Braunstone Gate have been bailed.
Shortly before 10.45pm on Boxing Day/Monday 26 December, police were informed by the East Midlands Ambulance Service that a man had been assaulted and had suffered a serious head injury.
He was taken to hospital where he remains receiving treatment and is in a stable condition.
Yesterday (Tuesday) two men aged 41 and 29 were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. They have both been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Sergeant George Fraser, from the Complex Investigation Team (CIT) said: “Our investigation into this incident is continuing today and I’d like to speak to any witnesses who have not yet contacted police.
“Given the time and location in which this incident occurred, I know there will have been people who were out and saw what happened.
“Any information you have – including dashcam, CCTV or mobile phone footage – could help.”
