A woman remains in hospital with serious injuries following a collision in Fairstone Hill, Oadby, yesterday morning (Friday).
Officers were called at 11.26am by East Midlands Ambulance Service to the collision, which involved a silver Mercedes car and a female pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a woman who is in her 70s, was taken to hospital by ambulance following the incident. She currently remains in hospital with serious injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances of the collision and detectives are appealing to anyone with any information to make contact.
Detective Constable Maggie Langton, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the female pedestrian or vehicle concerned prior to the incident, to make contact with us.
“Please think back to if you were in the area yesterday morning and any information you may have which could help us. If you have any dashcam footage from the area or any CCTV, please also get in touch.”
