Officers from the Roads Policing Unit (RPU) are appealing for witnesses – and anyone with dashcam footage – to come forward following a collision at the Hobby Horse island.
Shortly after 6.20pm on Sunday (3 July), a car collided with a motorcycle. The motorcycle was intending to travel north on the A46 towards Newark upon exiting the roundabout.
The driver of the car – which is believed to have been a Jaguar or Mercedes – remained at the scene for a short time but left prior to police arriving. The motorcycle rider – a man in his 30s – suffered a broken collarbone, broken ribs and a fracture to his neck.
PC Anthony Brewin, the investigating officer, said: “Our investigation into this incident is continuing and I am appealing for public help to identify the car so the driver involved can be spoken to.
“Were you on or near the Hobby Horse island on Sunday evening? Did you witness the collision? I am particularly keen to speak to any motorists who were there and have a dashcam in their vehicle.
“Any information you have could help.”
