Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed an assault in the Westcotes area of Leicester to come forward.
Between 10.30pm and 11pm on Saturday 9 July, a fight took place involving a group of men on the junction of King Richards Road and Andrewes Street.
The group were known to one another, but an unknown man then became involved, who kicked the victim – a man in his 50s – who suffered injuries to his face as a result. The man then ran off from the scene.
PC Lukasz Lesniak, the investigating officer, said: “This incident happened on a Saturday night, close to what’s a very busy route in and out of the city. I’m therefore sure there will have seen people who witnessed the assault.
“I am keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened but who has not yet contacted police. Any information you have – as well as any footage – could help my investigation.”
