Detectives in Coalville are appealing for witnesses to a robbery in Coalville to make contact.
At around 8.15am on Friday (11 March) the victim – a man in his 70s – was withdrawing cash from an ATM at the junction of Belvoir Road and Jackson Street.
However, he was pushed over by a man – believed to be aged between 25 and 30 – who took a large quantity of cash and ran off down Belvoir Road. Although the victim was not injured, he was shaken up by what happened.
Detective Constable Steve Williams, the investigating officer, said: “This happened at the junction of two busy roads at a time when people will have been going to work or school. Therefore I’m sure there will have been people who saw what happened.
“If you witnessed anything, then please get in touch. I’d also like to speak to anyone driving in the area with a dashcam in their vehicle or who has CCTV footage of the area. Any information you can provide, no matter how insignificant you think it is, could help.”
