Fire at nightclub in Loughborough – appeal for witnesses

Two people arrested after a fire at Echos nightclub in Loughborough have been released on police bail.
Police were called to Biggin Street just after 1.20am this morning (Tuesday 1 November) after two men were spotted in the area acting suspiciously.
Officers attended and quickly identified a fire inside the nightclub and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service was called.
No one was injured during the incident.
Detectives are now investigating and would like to speak to anyone who was in the area during the early hours of this morning. Businesses are also being asked to check CCTV to see if they have captured anything that may be of use to the investigation.
Two men aged 40 and 44 were arrested on suspicion of arson and burglary. The 44-year-old man was also been arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs.
They have both been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
A scene preservation was in place while the scene was examined but it has now been lifted.
