Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Hinckley Road on Saturday (26 November) evening.
Officers were called just after 9.30pm by the East Midlands Ambulance Service who were treating a man with a cut to the back of his head.
It is believed the man, who is in his 40s, had been standing outside of Ladbrokes, on the corner of Hinckley Road and Narborough Road North, when he was approached by a small group of people.
One of them hit him on the back of the head causing the injury before leaving the scene.
The victim was taken to hospital and required stiches as a result of the attack. He has since been discharged.
Those responsible are believed to have headed along Hinckley Road and into Ridley Street.
