Collision in East Park Road - woman seriously injured

Officers are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision that happened this morning (Saturday) in East Park Road, Leicester.
Police were called at 9.32am to a report of a pedestrian who had been in collision with a car. East Midlands Ambulance Service were also at the scene.
The woman had been crossing the road when she was hit by a black Vauxhall Astra, travelling on East Park Road in the direction of Green Lane Road.
She has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. The air ambulance landed in the area, but she was taken to hospital by land ambulance.
No one has been arrested.
DS Jon Putnam from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is leading the investigation. He said: “I’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision and who may have dashcam footage.
“We have spoken to a number of witnesses, but anyone in the area and who saw what happened and who hasn’t yet spoken to police – please, contact us.”
