East Leicester Disorder
Dispersal powers have again been put in place in areas of East Leicester this evening (Wednesday 7 September).
The powers – under Section 34 and 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 – have been authorised by Chief Superintendent Adam Slonecki.
The orders have been authorised to protect our communities and provide safety to those living in the area. Incidents of violence will not be tolerated.
They were put in place at 7pm and will remain until 6am tomorrow (Thursday 8 September) and are in place to help officers respond to any reports of disorder this evening.
Under the powers, officers will be allowed to return anyone under the age of 16 to their home address. Anyone found breaching a notice is liable to be arrested and face further action.
