Men jailed following police investigation into drugs supply line

A police investigation into a drugs supply line operating in Loughborough has led to three men being jailed.

Enquiries led to a number of search warrants being executed across the Leicestershire area on 19 July this year.

This led to Michael Anderson, 58, Tapiwa Chokufa, 28, Levi Kemp, 28, and Mark Woolman, 27 being arrested.

A quantity of class A drugs was also seized along with cash, mobile phones and drugs paraphernalia.

Following the arrests, Anderson, of Queens Drive, Enderby; Chokufa, of no fixed address; Kemp, of no fixed address; and Woolman, of Sandown Road, Glenfield; were all charged with two counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs (cocaine and heroin).

Yesterday (Tuesday), at Leicester Crown Court, they were sentenced after all previously pleading guilty to the charges.

• Chokufa and Kemp were each sentenced to a total of 2,089 days imprisonment – more than five years and eight months. The sentence is equivalent to seven years imprisonment minus a 20 per cent discount for the guilty plea made.
• Woolman was sentenced to a total of 18 months imprisonment
• Anderson was sentenced to a total of 15 months imprisonment suspended for two years.

Officer in the case, Police Constable Lucy Boote said: “As a force, we will not tolerate drugs offending in our communities. Thanks to detailed investigative work, we were able to bring the defendants to court and remove more drugs from our streets.
