Death of two people in Saddington – man and woman named

Detectives are continuing to investigate the deaths of two people at an address in Saddington.
Officers were called to the incident in Smeeton Road at 11.27am on Friday 15 December by East Midlands Ambulance Service following the report of a man and a woman found deceased.
Police are now able to name them as 59-year-old Richard Harrison and his wife, 54-year-old Rachel Harrison.
A post-mortem examination has now been carried out and confirmed that both died from gunshot injuries.
Detectives will continue to investigate the incident, but they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
A file will now be prepared for H.M. Coroner.
Detective Inspector David Greenhalgh, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit major crime team, said: “This is a deeply tragic incident and officers are continuing to support the family during this extremely difficult time.
“We will continue to carry out enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident, but I can confirm we do not believe anyone else was involved in the incident and a file will be prepared for H.M. Coroner.”
