A motorcyclist has died following a collision with a van in Kirby Road, Glenfield, this morning (Friday).
Police were called to the area near the junction with The Mill Lane at 7.10am following the collision which involved a yellow Suzuki motorcycle and a white Mercedes van.
East Midlands Ambulance Service and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.
Sadly the motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, died at the scene.
No other injuries have been reported.
The motorcyclist’s family have been informed and support is being provided to them.
Officers are continuing to establish the full circumstances of the collision and are appealing to anyone with any information, who has not already spoken to police, to make contact.
Detective Sergeant Ed Des-Chanelle, from the force's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Sadly the motorcyclist died at the scene and we are providing full support to his family at this time.
“Our enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances of the collision and we are appealing to anyone with any information to make contact if you have not already spoken with us. Did you witness the collision – or did you see either of the vehicles travelling beforehand? Do you have any dashcam footage from the area?
“If you have any information which could help our enquiries, please make contact.”
