Two people have been arrested and three machetes recovered after a suspected stolen vehicle was stopped by police.
Officers attempted to stop the car in the Saffron Lane just before 10.30pm yesterday (Wednesday) after spotting the vehicle being driven in the area.
During the attempt, the subject vehicle was reported to have reversed into the police vehicle and five people were reported to have left the car. No injuries were reported following the collision.
Following a short foot chase, one person was detained.
A second person was found nearby following a search by police dog Kylo and use of the police drone.
A 20-year-old man, of Leicester, has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a bladed article and possession of class A drugs. A 16-year-old boy, also of Leicester, has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of an offensive weapon.
The 20-year-old man has since been released on police bail. The 16-year-old boy has been released under investigation.
A police investigation remains ongoing.
