Three men were arrested on Tuesday (7 March) after they were seen acting suspiciously in the Knighton area.
The force received a call around 10.40pm from a resident who witnessed three people walking through gardens in the Aberdale Road area and damaging fences.
Officers attended and discovered a house in the street has been broken into and two people were arrested at the scene.
With the assistance of the dog unit and the drone team, using heat source, officers were able to track a third suspect and located him in a garden nearby.
All three men, aged 25, 30 and 41, were arrested on suspicion of burglary. They have since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
After further examination of the house officers discovered a number of cannabis plants in the property.
A black BMW X5 believed to be linked to the suspects was also located nearby on cloned number plates and recovered for further examination.
PC Ben Leaning from South Leicester CID is investigating the incident. He said: “As a result of the call from the member of the public we were able to act swiftly and arrest three people in the area.
“Our enquiries into the report are very much ongoing and if anyone has any information which may assist us we would urge you to get in touch.”
