Man charged with assault of police officer

A man has been charged with assaulting a police officer following an incident in Kegworth on Monday 27 February.
Andrew Pegler, 26, of St Andrews Rise, Kegworth, has been released on bail and is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates Court on Friday 17 March.
The charge is in relation to an incident which occurred while a planned protest was ongoing in the area.
The officer did not suffer any serious injury following the incident.
