Officers continue to engage with protestors at Meridian Business Park.

Over the past few days, officers have had to make arrests and take action where needed when suspected criminal activity has occurred.
At this stage, protestors at the site continue to remain fewer in number and disruption to local businesses remains reduced.
A total of 36 arrests have now been made and 19 people have since been charged with offences:
Twelve people have been charged with breaches under Section 14 of the Public Order Act
Two people have been charged with causing criminal damage

Assistant Chief Constable Adam Streets said: “A small number of people remain at the site engaging in peaceful protest and our officers continue to work with them. Thank you once again to everyone who has chosen not to support potential criminal activity and who has carried out a peaceful protest.
“Our officers continue to work hard on the ground facilitating this peaceful protest and managing any disruption caused while also taking action against anyone suspected of committing criminal activity.
“At this stage, a total of 36 arrests have been made with 19 people charged and full investigations remain ongoing.
“Significant police resource has been required during this policing operation at a time when the force is already facing high demand. I am grateful to all officers and staff who have worked extremely hard and long hours across the past week in response to this demand.
“We will remain at the site across the coming days supporting communities but also taking proportionate action where it is required.
“Thank you again for your continued support as we do this.”
