Detectives are appealing for information following an attack on an ATM at a premises in Sturdee Road, Leicester, during the early hours of this morning (Sunday).
Police received the report at 3.54am today. Officers attended where it was found damage had been caused to an ATM which was outside the front of the premises. Damage had also been caused to a door at the premises.
It is believed an amount of cash has been stolen from the machine.
An investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident and officers are appealing to anyone with any information to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Dan Lester said: “We have been carrying out a number of significant enquiries this morning to establish what has happened and how it has happened.
“The incident happened during the early hours of this morning but we are appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything which seemed unusual or caused you concern, to please make contact with us. Your information could help our enquiries.
“If you have heard anything since which may help our investigation, we also urge you to get in touch.
“Similarly, if you have any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from the area, please also check this and make contact with us. Thank you.”
