A man remains in hospital with serious injuries following a collision in Wigston Road, Oadby, yesterday morning (Monday).
Police were called to the collision involving a dark green Audi car and a male pedestrian at 8.18am. The incident happened near to the junction with London Road.
East Midlands Ambulance Service were also in attendance.
The pedestrian, a man in his 80s, was taken to hospital where he currently remains with serious injuries.
No other injuries have been reported.
A 35-year-old woman, of Leicester, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. She has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Detectives are investigating the full circumstances of the collision and are appealing to anyone with any information, who has not yet spoken to police, to make contact.
Police Constable Jo Wignall, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “A man remains in hospital with serious injuries and we are carrying out full enquiries to establish what has happened.
“Please think back to if you were in the area this morning and if you saw the collision, or if you saw the vehicle or pedestrian prior to the incident. If you have any dashcam footage or CCTV from the area, please also check this and make contact with us if you have not already done so.
