Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in a Leicester street before his car was stolen.
The incident took place around 11am on Saturday 2 September in Berridge Lane, the 54-year-old victim was approached in the street and assaulted before his white Range Rover Sport was stolen.
The vehicle was subsequently located in Bath Lane.
The victim sustained a fracture to his ankle and jaw and was treated in hospital.
From enquiries conducted so far it’s believed as Asian man, about 5ft 7ins tall and with a beard approached the victim and after a verbal exchange of words he punched the victim. The suspect made off in the victim’s Range Rover and second person who may have been with the suspect drove off in a black BMW X5.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or the events leading up to the assault and theft. Anyone who was in the area either on foot or in a vehicle is asked to get in touch if they captured any footage of the incident on their phones or dashcam equipment.
