The body of a man who was found in Stoney Stanton last week has been confirmed to be missing Anthony Hamerton.
Officers were in the Stoney Stanton area on Friday evening (9 August) and discovered a body in some fields near Sapcote Road.
Formal identification has now taken place and the body is confirmed to be Mr Hamerton.
Mr Hamerton, 93, had been reported missing on Tuesday 6 August after he had not been seen for a few days.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and HM Coroner has been informed.
