The body of a man who was reported missing in Loughborough has been found in the River Soar.
A report was received just before 6.45pm on Tuesday (30 July) in relation to a group of people swimming in the river and a man getting into some difficulty in the water.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and were not able to locate the man.
Yesterday (Wednesday 31 July) searches of the river continued with officers from the force’s Tactical Support Team (TST). The body of a man in his 20s was located yesterday afternoon.
His next of kin has been notified and officers are providing support to his family.
His death is not believed to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
Identification of the deceased is a matter for HM Coroner.
