A prolific drug dealer has been sentenced to more than five years in prison after being arrested by police during a warrant.
Officers executed a warrant at an address in Bolton Road, Leicester on 26 June earlier this year.
Reece Broad, who was visiting the address, was found by officers in an upstairs bathroom. An officer who was in the back garden saw a man wearing the same clothing as Broad through the window and an arm reach out of the window and carry out a ‘flicking’ motion.
The officer did a search of the area and found a clear bag containing white powder and white rocks in the garden of the address, two doors down. Following forensic examination, it was found it to contain cocaine and cutting/mixing agent.
Seized from inside the address were digital scales and two mobile phones belonging to Broad which when reviewed, one contained messages relating to dealing heroin and cocaine.
Broad, 26, of Morland Avenue, Leicester was charged with being concerned in supply of class A drugs namely cocaine, being concerned in the supply of class A drugs namely heroin and being in possession with intent to supply class A drugs namely cocaine.
He pleaded guilty all charges at Leicester Crown Court on Monday (12 August) and was sentenced shortly after to a total of five years and eight months in prison.

PC Charlotte Eld, who was the investigating officer, said: “By chance, Broad was only visiting the address at the time of the warrant and he was not the intended target that day.
“Unfortunately for him, he displayed evidence of being involved drug dealing when he was found in the property, so he was arrested and later charged.
“Despite being convicted previously in 2018 and 2020 for drug offences, it seems that Broad continues to be a prolific drug dealer and is intent on reoffending leading a life of crime.”
PC Eld added: “We hope this conviction shows we remain committed to tacking drug offenders, and we will place those who repeatedly chose to offend before the courts to face further punishment for their actions.”
