Arrest made in serious sexual assault investigation

An appeal was made by police earlier today (Wednesday 4 December) after a woman was subjected to a serious sexual assault at around 4am on Saturday (30 November) in the area of De Montfort Square close to its junction with Princess Road East, Leicester.
An image of a man police wished to speak to was released and he has since been identified.
As part of our enquiries, a man in his twenties, has been arrested in connection with the incident. He has since been released on bail.
