Two people have been arrested following an attempted burglary in Knighton – and detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Shortly before 12.30am on Saturday (3 February) a man in his 30s reported seeing someone trying to get into his address in The Orchard through the patio doors. When he banged on the window, the suspect ran away. Three other people were seen on the driveway and the group left the area on two e-bikes.
Following further enquiries, an 18-year-old man and 17-year-old youth were arrested in connection with the incident and an e-bike was seized by officers. They have both since been released on bail.
Detective Constable Stephen Henderson said: “We believe the e-bike that was seized, which is pictured, may have been stolen from elsewhere and would like to return it to its owner. If it’s yours, then please get in touch. You must be able to provide proof of ownership.
“Furthermore, I’d like to speak to anyone who saw a group in the Knighton area in the early hours of Saturday morning acting in a manner that seemed unusual or suspicious. Anything you’re able to tell us or any footage you can provide could help.”
