A pedestrian, who was seriously injured following a collision on the A6 on Saturday 22 June, has died.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses, dash cam and mobile phone footage after the incident which happened at 7.45pm in Loughborough Road, close to the junction with Sibson Road.
The collision involved a blue Honda motorbike – being ridden by a man in his 50s – and a pedestrian in his 60s.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious head and abdominal injuries and sadly passed away on Wednesday 3 July.
The rider of the motorbike was not injured.
Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and working to establish the full circumstances.
As part of enquiries, we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident or captured any footage to make contact.
Detective Constable Madeleine Hayes said: “We know that there were vehicles travelling in both directions on the A6 at the time of the collision and there were also people coming off buses at the bus stop, opposite the Birstall MOT Centre, on city bound carriageway of the A6.
“I would like to continue to ask anyone who may have witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to police to come forward. We are also still asking for any dash cam footage, or any videos people may have captured on their phones.”
Anyone who can help is asked to send a report online at or by calling 101, quoting reference number 24*368234.
