Police are appealing for witnesses after property was believed to have been taken from a vehicle travelling on a recovery truck.
At around 4.40pm on Monday 4 November, a locked blue BMW 5 series was travelling on a flatbed recovery truck along the A563 Lubbesthorpe Way towards the direction of Fosse Shopping Park.
The vehicle had seen seized a short time before as part of an ongoing police investigation.
As the vehicle approached the roundabout on Meridian Way, it was reported that a passenger exited a red Peugeot 308 which was travelling behind the truck. He was seen to climb onto the truck before entering the BMW and then returning to the Peugeot.
A 47-year-old man and a 16-year-old youth have been arrested in connection with the incident and have since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
PC Charlotte Curry is the investigating officer.
She said: “We are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident which we believe was to take something from the vehicle which could be connected to our wider investigation.
“I would like to urge anyone who may have seen this incident take place or has any information about the Peugeot and its occupants to please get in touch.
“If you have dash cam in your vehicle and was travelling through the area at this time, please check your device to see if it has any related footage to this incident.”
