A six-year-old boy remains in hospital with serious injuries following a collision in Walnut Street, Leicester, this afternoon (Monday).
Police were called to the area at 4.11pm by the East Midlands Ambulance service who were in attendance at a report of a collision involving a coach and the boy who was a pedestrian.
The boy was taken to hospital where he currently remains with serious injuries. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Officers are providing full support to the boy’s family.
No other injuries have been reported.
Officers are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident. Road closures were put in place while emergency services attended the scene.
Detective Sergeant Jack Cornick, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “A six-year-old boy has suffered serious injuries and our enquiries are ongoing to determine exactly what has happened.
"We have been speaking to a number of people who were at the scene but if you do have any information in relation to the collision, and have not yet spoken to us, then please ensure that you make contact with us. If you have any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area this afternoon, then please also check this and get in touch.
