An appeal is being made for motorists with dashcam footage to come forward following a serious collision in Braunstone Town yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 12 February).
Just before 3.15pm, police were called to Shakespeare Drive, at the junction with Hathaway Avenue, following a report of a collision involving a blue Renault Clio and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian – a nine-year-old boy – was taken to hospital, where he is continuing to receive treatment for serious injuries. The driver of the car, a man in his 50s, was not injured. No-one was arrested.
PC Suki Sahota, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), said: “While officers spoke to a number of people at the scene, I’d like anyone who captured the incident on a dashcam but has not yet contacted police to come forward.
“I’d also like to speak to anyone who saw what happened but has not yet provided an account. Anything you’re able to tell or show us could help our investigation.”
