A man from Oadby has pleaded guilty to several offences relating to bomb hoaxes.
Paul Fisher, 61, was charged with nine counts of bomb hoax – communicating false information and one count of causing wasteful employment of police on Tuesday (6 May).
The charges relate to calls that he made to several UK police forces – Leicestershire Police, Lincolnshire Police, the Metropolitan Police, West Midlands Police and Humberside Police – on Monday 5 May 2025 - where he claimed that bombs had been placed at numerous premises, including airports and railway stations.
He was also charged with one count of causing wasteful employment of police, which related to a call regarding a bank in Lincolnshire.
Fisher, of St Peters Path, Oadby, appeared at Leicester Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday 7 May) where he pleaded guilty to all offences.
He was remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced at Leicester Crown Court on 4 June.
