“The message of ‘Kayleigh’s Love Story’ is as important now for our young people as it has been across the past 10 years.”
‘Kayleigh’s Love Story’ was a film made by Leicestershire Police to highlight the dangers to young people of online grooming. The film was made with the support of Kayleigh’s family.
Ten years since Kayleigh’s death, it continues to be shown and discussed in schools informing, warning and educating thousands of young people.
Here we look at the impact it continues to have and how its message continues to be as important as ever.
Detective Superintendent Helen Schofield said: “Our thoughts very much remain with Kayliegh and with her family and friends.
“In today’s world of online communication and social media, the message of Kayleigh’s Love Story is as important now for our young people as it has been across the past 10 years.
“We are very grateful to Kayleigh’s family who supported us in creating the film and to those who continue to share the film and its message including parents, carers, teachers and youth organisations.
“Please keep talking about the film and please know that you can report any concerns to us. You can report online at www.leics.police.uk or by calling 101. Always call 999 in an emergency. Thank you.”
